Choosing your clothes
Bring outfits that represent you! Clothing choices are essential to a photograph and set the tone for your entire portrait session. Be colorful, be bold, don’t be afraid to stand out!
*Be sure to pick out colors that are flattering to you. You can’t go wrong with Jewel tones or neutrals.
*Make sure all clothing items are neatly pressed/wrinkle free
*Make sure clothes fit well.
*Avoid large, busy patterns, big logos and ads on clothing. We want the attention to go to you, not your clothes.
*Don’t forget your accessories: belts, hats, scarves, additional shoes, jackets, ties, jewelry, sunglasses, etc.
*Be sure shoes are neat and clean

Tips
*Make sure eyebrows, uni-brows, underarms and legs are tweezed, shaven or waxed. If you are waxing, be sure to do so a couple of days before your session to avoid red and irritated skin.
*Guys, unless you are going for the 5 o’clock shadow, Don Johnson look (ask your parents who he is), get rid of that stubble.
*Girls, don’t forget proper undergarments, including strapless bras. Nude colors go well under most outfits.
*Be sure nails are neatly manicured. No chipped polish. Choose a color that will go with all your outfit choices.
*Sparkly and glittery make up does not photograph well. It’s best to avoid wearing it.
*If you are getting a new hair style/cut, do so a week or more in advance so you have time to get comfortable to the new look or you have time to make changes.
*Be careful if you are planning to tan. Peeling skin and tan lines are very difficult to edit and could result in additional edit fees. If you have a sunburn, you may want to reschedule.
*Sunless tanning is great, but consider having it professionally done to avoid an unnatural skin color, streaking and stains around your hands and feet.
*Moisturize your skin and bring additional moisturizer or lotion with you.
* Using a h&mu artist can glam up your session or just enhance the natural beauty you already have! The majority of our girls have this done. Go ahead and pamper yourself! We can recommend a makeup artist and hair stylist who is very experience with skin and hair of all types.
*Bring Props! Skateboards, instruments, sporting goods, metals & trophies, favorite books, class rings, Letter jackets, etc. Anything that shows who you are!
